The Currency Behind Your Vision Board: Pay Attention to What You Want More Of

I love a vision board.

I love the images, the possibility, the moment you remember what you actually want, not just what you have been managing.

And here is the foundation I come back to again and again:

Give attention to what you want more of.

Because you are literally paying attention to something at all times.

Even when you are not trying.
Even when you are just scrolling, reacting, pushing through, checking the dreaded to do list, or running your day on autopilot.

You are paying attention, which means you are spending your thought coins somewhere.

So why not be mindful about spending them on what you want more of?

Thought coins are your invisible spending

A thought coin is any repeated thought you “spend” throughout your day.

The quick ones. The automatic ones. The ones that feel so normal you do not even question them.

They sound like:

  • “I’m behind.”

  • “I should have figured this out by now.”

  • “This is unrealistic.”

  • “I don’t have time.”

  • “Who am I to want that?”

None of those thoughts make you a bad person.

They are just expensive.

Because what you pay attention to repeatedly becomes what you strengthen.

Why your vision board can feel exciting, then stressful

This is a pattern I see all the time.

You make the board. You feel lit up. You feel hopeful.

Then life happens.

The inbox fills. The schedule tightens. The old habits come back online. And suddenly the board feels like pressure, not possibility.

That is usually not because your dream is wrong.

It is because your nervous system is reading your vision as a demand.

So instead of asking, “Is my vision big enough?”

I want you to ask: What am I paying attention to most days?

Because your vision board is the picture, but your attention is the currency.

The hidden cost of paying attention to the wrong things

If most of your attention is going to the to do list, the problems, the pressure, or what is not working, here is what often happens:

  • You overwork to prove you deserve what you want

  • You hesitate because you are afraid to do it wrong

  • You stay inspired, but not integrated

  • You keep circling the same dreams without landing in action

And the biggest cost is this:

You start to believe the dream is not for you, when really your attention has been funding a different story.

Attention is either building your vision or feeding your stress.

A simple practice: Match one vision with one attention choice

Here is the practice I love because it is real life friendly.

1) Pick one image from your vision board.
Just one.

2) Write the three most common thoughts you have about it.
No judgment. Just honesty.

3) Circle the one you spend the most attention on.
That is your current thought coin.

4) Choose one grounded upgrade thought coin.
Not a fake affirmation. Something your system can believe.

Examples:

  • “I’m available for the next step.”

  • “I can do this gently.”

  • “I’m open to possibility.”

  • “I don’t need the whole plan, just the next aligned move.”

5) Spend that coin daily for 7 days.
Put it on a sticky note. Make it your lock screen. Say it before you open your laptop.

This is how a dream moves from collage to reality.

Because attention is not just focus.
Attention is fuel.

This is exactly why I created the Quantum Collective Joy Lab

A lot of growth work happens in isolation. And isolation is where attention drifts back to fear, pressure, and the to do list.

The Quantum Collective Joy Lab exists to shift that.

It is a space for the spiritually attuned individual who is ready to trade disconnection for connection, and isolation for shared momentum. It is where imagination becomes a superpower, and shared intention changes the world.

This is not about hype. It is about having a consistent field that helps you keep paying attention to what you want more of, with support, rhythm, and real integration.

A gentle invitation

If your vision board feels exciting, but also a little heavy, I want you to hear this clearly:

You are not behind. You are not broken. You are not failing.

You are simply being invited to become more mindful about where your attention is going.

So start here:

Pick one image on your vision board.
Choose one thought coin that matches it.
Spend your attention there on purpose, even for two minutes a day.

And if you want a community where that practice becomes easier and more consistent, I would love to welcome you into the Quantum Collective Joy Lab.

What are you paying attention to most right now, and what do you want to give attention to instead?
